For anyone running SKU-1 (the preloaded SD card): a Raspberry Pi 4 with
2GB of RAM is the confirmed minimum – that’s the lowest RAM variant the
Pi 4 is even sold in, not an unsupported edge case. A 4GB Pi 4 or a Pi
5 is recommended if you have the choice.

The OS is Ubuntu 24.04 LTS specifically – not Raspberry Pi OS, not
Xubuntu. If you’ve seen older references to Xubuntu floating around
anywhere, those are stale; the current build runs on Ubuntu 24.04.

Beyond the Pi itself: a display (1080p minimum, 4K looks great if you
have it – though plenty of people run this fully headless with no
display at all), and either WiFi or wired Ethernet, with wired being
more reliable for anything running 24/7.
