News crawl showing no items, or a custom feed not working

News crawl shows NO ITEMS IN RANGE: your age filter is excluding
everything currently available. Open News Feed Settings (the gear icon
on the crawl bar, or Settings, News Feeds) and widen the “Show items
from last” window. Weather, geology, and some lower-frequency feeds
(ARRL, RSGB) sometimes need a 12-24 hour window to reliably show
anything.

Custom feed added but not showing in the crawl: check that same age
gate first – the feed may genuinely have items, just older than your
current window. Also confirm the feed’s toggle is switched on in the
picker. The refresh button on that feed’s row forces an immediate
re-fetch if you want to check right away.

Custom feed fails Verify: the URL probably isn’t returning valid RSS
or ATOM content, might require authentication, or could just be
temporarily down. Try opening the URL directly in a browser to check.
If the site doesn’t have a native feed at all, a tool like rss.app can
generate one from most pages.
