    This is a use case where the no-cloud-dependency design decision
    actually matters most, not just as a nice-to-have. A served-agency
    activation is exactly the situation where you don’t want your
    situational awareness depending on an internet service that might
    itself be affected by whatever’s happening. Helioclock polls public
    data feeds directly from your own hardware – if your local network and
    internet are up at all, it works the same way it does on a calm
    Tuesday.

    For net control specifically: NWS alerts, radar, and the world clock
    row (useful when a served agency spans time zones or when tracking
    shift changes) cover a meaningful chunk of what a net control station
    needs to keep visible.
